Royal Desert Camp in Pushkar
Introduction
The Royal Desert Camp is set up every year in Pushkar. It is located at Ganahera in Motisar road at a distance of about 15 km from Ajmer. The occasion of setting up this camp in winter is the renowned camel fair which is however not just the venue for camel trading activities but also for a host of other cultural activities.
Accommodation
There are a total of 180 Swiss Cottages and 50 deluxe tents in the Royal Desert Camp. All the tents are provided with the basic amenities that are needed to make your stay at the tent comfortable. They have attached bathrooms with a good supply of running hot and cold water. The bathrooms are made of PVC and fiberglass. The rooms are adorned with suitable furniture. They are very tastefully decorated. Very good quality linen and beautiful carpets are used for enhancing the beauty of the rooms. Room service caters to all your needs. As these tents are set up in winter, blowers are used to keep the interiors of the tents warm.
Dining
There are 2 tented dining halls at the Royal Desert Camp which are capable of accommodating about 600 people at the same time. It offers Indian as well as Continental cuisine. The food is extremely well cooked and is sure to fulfill your appetite. There is a coffee shop which remains open all 24 hours a day.
Other Facilities
Laundry services are provided at the Royal Desert Camp. There is a doctor on call to handle all kinds of medical cases. There is a travel desk at the Royal Desert camp. The tourists are provided with all the needful information. They also make arrangements for Jeep, Horse and Camel safaris. You can even rent a car from here. A camel cart is there for going to the Mela ground and that is absolutely free of charge. Lockers are available at the Royal Desert Camp where you can keep all your valuables. Telephone, Postal and Parking facilities are also available. Money exchange facilities are also there. Almost all major visa and credit cards are accepted.
Campfires are set up. Several cultural programmes are organized at the Royal Desert Camp. You can spend wonderful evenings viewing some great performances by Rajasthani Folk singers and dancers.
