Introduction

Neemrana Fort Palace located at a distance of about 80 km from the centre of Alwar city is one of India’s oldest heritage resorts. Neemrana was named after a local chieftain Nimola Meo. The story goes that after this brave tribal chief was defeated by the Chauhans he requested them to name his lost kingdom after him. The Chauhans made Neemrana their third capital.
The Neemrana Fort Palace covers an area of about 25 acres. It rises to 10 levels and this is why it commands an excellent view of the surroundings. The architecture of this hotel is well worth having a look.

In the year 1981, Colonel Shiv Ram Singh started the Kothi Rao Hotel after his retirement from the Army. This was the first house hotel in the city.

Inspired by this, the RTDC has also started this paying guesthouse scheme in most cities. Kothi Rao Hotel is located at 31 Moti Dungari in Alwar just opposite to the LIC building. It is just 1.5 km from the railway station and half a kilometer away from the centre of the city. The bus stand is also fairly close by.
