Introduction

Amanbagh Resort is an absolutely amazing resort designed by American Bill Dalton and inaugurated in 2005. The resort is reminiscent of Mughal Architecture and gives you the unique opportunity to come face to face with the rich cultural heritage of the colorful state of Rajasthan. It is located within an enclosed compound which was once used by the Maharaja of Alwar to set up hunting camps. A stay here is sure to be memorable.
The Amanbagh Resort has a modern palace built of pink sandstone. This main building has three levels. The arrival area is in the first level. As you enter you first come across the reception hall which leads onto the shaded court. The court has the dining hall on one side and the Lounge on the other. A staircase from the reception area leads you onto the Library and an open terrace. The roof is accessible through two staircases and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape.

The Courtyard Haveli rooms located on the second level have a living area, an attached bathroom along with a private courtyard and a terrace. A large bed, a sound system and a personal bar is there in each of these rooms. The Garden Haveli rooms have been so named because they have private balconies which give a fantastic view of the garden. The Terrace Haveli rooms have a private terrace with an area of 80 square meters attached to them. Each has an outdoor dining area, a daybed and two sun loungers.

Dining

The dining room of the Amanbagh Resort offers simple but tasty Indian food. You can also choose western dishes. Tables are laid for dinner and the seating arrangement sometimes stretches to the adjoining courtyard. What is interesting is that Rangolis or colorful geometric designs are created to enhance the beauty of the dining courtyard.
The Roof Terrace is also ideal for dinners in the summers when a cool breeze blows. There is also an informal dining area beside the pool where Sandwiches, salads and snacks are served for Lunch.

Other Facilities

There is a swimming pool and a wading pool. The water temperatures of both these pools are controlled so that they remain cool in summer and hot in winter. Efficient therapists heal you with traditional treatments available at the resort’s spa.
The management of the Amanbagh Resort arranges for camel and elephant rides. You can also go for trekking. Rowing or sailing at the Ajabgarh Lake from August to February is also possible. Regular Yoga sessions are held besides the pools of this resort. A flutist plays the bansi as an accompaniment.
